A.C.E LEARNING CENTER

Our school follows the individualized, self instructional, Biblically based Accelerated Christian Education system A.C.E.

One of the strengths of this program is that it is "learner-centered" not "teacher-centered." As Christian educators, our foremost responsibility is inspiring achievement. In the conventional classroom, the teacher has been the "sage on the stage." However, in an A.C.E. Learning Center, the supervisor is more of a "guide on the side," assisting children to learn. Wisdom and knowledge come from God, not man. It is our calling to facilitate learning through guiding our students to find the truth. This can be accomplished by creating a learning environment that encourages students to take ownership of their learning.

In the A.C.E. curriculum, the student is introduced to God and His creation. Science teaches about God's physical creation. Social studies presents the world as ruled and ordered by God and history as "His story." Math presents fact about God's orderly world. English teaches the student the importance of communication in godly living. Word Building and Literature and Creative Writing reinforce English communication skills and provide practice for improving vocabulary and word usage. All PACEs are carefully designed to give the student harmonious academic training from God's point of view.

The procedures of the Learning Center develop good study habits, efficient time management and goal setting skills in the children. Also, it promotes academic excellency by holding an 80 percent  (90% for elementary students) as the minimum passing score. This demonstrates the student's adequate learning and mastery of skills before he/she is ready to proceed to the next subject PACE.
